The mung bean or monggo beans, also known as green gram or golden gram is a seed native to the Indian subcontinent. It is mainly grown in several countries in Asia and very popular ingredient in a lot of Indian dishes. It can be used and cooked as a soup or even as sweets and pastries. Sinigang is a popular Filipino recipe which is traditionally tamarind base. Its sourness and flavor made it one of the favorite recipe of Filipinos. Today, I decided to share a recipe that has been prepared in my family for as long as I can remember.
